Historic Landmarks

The Sufis and Muslim Rulers in Bengal left behind landmarks such as mosques, shrines and buildings, in places like Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Sonargaon, Pandua, Gaur and Murshidabad. The important architectural features of Islamic architecture are the dome, arch, and Muqarnas vault. that can be found throughout buildings of this style. The dome is often one of the only parts of the exterior of the building that is decorated, because it was seen as very important and distinctive.
